Dostoevsky (db or br c 2004 Gold Token-Devil's Needle by Nureyev)

This 2yo colt was privately bred and is currently in training in Mexico. He is by New York stallion Gold Token, who was a record setting son of Mr. Prospector out of the Nureyev mare Devil’s Needle.

His dam Devil’s Needle is a daughter of English Triple crown winning filly Oh So Sharp and comes from a very strong family of graded stakes winners and champions.

Physically he stands 16 hands and has more scope than power, indicating that he will probably be better suited for the middle or longer distances. The bottom of his pedigree indicates an inclination for the grass but the Gold Tokens tend to do better on dirt.

He is nominated to the New York Stallion Stakes and would be brought to race in the US if his performance in Mexico warrants the move. We have been successful in the past with this strategy of sending horses to Mexico to reduce training expenses and trying them out before committing to racing in the US.

Rajasthan (db or br c 2004 Rahy-Irish Linnet by Seattle Song)

This 2yo colt was purchased at the 2005 Keeneland September Sale and is currently in training. He is by Rahy out of the multiple NY champion and millionaire Irish Linnet. He is a full brother to  stakes winner Blushing Irish.

A late May foal, physically he stands 16 hands and is very powerful throughout. He has a very good strong sloping shoulder and a great powerful hind end, typical of Rahy, with very strong muscling. He looks like he should be able to show speed in his races. He also has some scope to him which indicates that he may be able to stretch out in the future. He is very correct in the front and has a broad chest.

His sire, Rahy, has sired 11 Grade 1 winners, 11 Millionaires and has consistently ranked among the best sires in the world. He has produced champions and millionaires Dreaming of Anna, Fantastic Light, Serena’s Song, Noverre, Tranquility Lake, among others.

Irish Linnet, his dam, earned more than $1,220,000. She was voted New York-Bred Champion Turf Female for 1991, 1992 and 1994; Champion 3-Year-Old Filly for 1991; Champion Older Female for 1994. She was a precocious filly winning early at 2 and then going on to become a graded stakes winning record setter. She won 15 stakes from ages 3 through 7.  She won stakes at Saratoga for 5 straight years. Won Belmont's Grade 2 New York Handicap (in 1:59 4/5 for 1 1/4 miles) and Grade 3 Noble Damsel Handicap twice, once by 6 1/2 lengths in a stakes record 1:39 2/5 for 1 1/16 miles. She also captured Saratoga's Yaddo Stakes an unprecedented five consecutive times, twice setting stakes records that included 1:46 1/5 for 1 1/8 miles.

Rajasthan is currently in training at Tapeta Farm under trainer Michael Dickinson. Because he is a late May foal he will not start as a two year old. We will give him time to develop and we are aiming to start him as a three year old in the spring.
